No flour=no fat gain. I use Ezekiel for bodybuilding because they make the most nutritional grains that provide sustained energy with a minimal insulin response, and of course they are a reputable ALL NATURAL company. Flour containing products are not as healthy and spike insulin (causing fat gain) compared to than sprouted grains, so to me flour has no place in everday diet (occasional desserts are a different story). I don't even have anything to comare Ezekiel to because nothing else I know of is flourless in terms of bread or cereal. Great products! Of course raisin is the best tasting of the cereals in my opinion but the others are fine too. They are a bit pricy, but you really do get what you pay for. Sprouted grain anything is touted as being lower in carbohydrates and sugar than regular OR whole wheat anything (both of which convert directly to sugar when digested). Sprouted grain, allegedly, does not (according to an online flat belly diet plan, anyway). So, not wanting to give up pasta, (and who wouldn't want a flatter belly?) I decided to try this. The box says that because it's natural, it cooks in half the time of regular pasta so, according to the directions, I cooked it for 4.5 minutes, but it was still a little stiff. Next time I'll try for 6 and see what happens. The texture is similar to wheat pasta and with sauce on it, it was hard to tell the difference - except for the color. I don't have blood work scheduled for another 4 months, and I haven't entirely given up... Personally, I don't want to call the manufacturers liars (they seem to be christians, and I have it on good authority that christians aren't supposed to lie), but I tried cooking this pasta on two separate occasions and both times it took way longer to cook it than stated on the box, and the results we got were (in my opinion) barely edible because the pasta was very tough and instantly stuck together when it was drained (this might be because I didn't boil it in enough water though). Overall, I'm giving this product 4 stars because it is very healthy, it tastes okay if you like whole grains, and the food for life people make fantastic products. However, I will not be buying this pasta again because of the texture issue. Personally, I would recommend bionaturae brand pasta... About Fitches: Most scholars believe that "fitches" in the verse, refers to sprouted grains. We have experimented with numerous recipes, some of which call for the inclusion of a cup or two of sprouted grains, and some which don't. Ezekiel bread turns out quite different in texture and taste with or without sprouted grains included. Both are unique and delicious.

If you decide to include sprouted grains, we recommend either wheat, spelt, or a mix of both. Most of the recipes you can easily find on the web discuss the sprouting of grains for the recipe.

Don't expect the same flavor or texture! However, we love this pasta for what it is. It is a lot like a sponge and needs much more sauce than white pasta to not taste dry. Our favorite way to eat it is just with real butter, salt & pepper. (My kids want this for lunch everyday) As far as other pasta dishes go, I find that you can't really substitute this. Tinkyada is a good brand that is much more similar to regular white pasta if you just want the health benefits, but don't want to change your recipes very much. The flavor of this pasta is much more rich and full than a normal white pasta, or even whole grain pasta. It will compete with other flavors, so you have to tinker with it and find what you like it with and what you don't. I don't think it tastes like cardboard though, we really enjoy the flavor.
